the vehicles still up here on marlboro pike. we do know an ambulance was responding to a call when they were heading down marlboro pike. that s.u.v. was coming in the wrong direction. this was a head jan collision but according to fire and ems and what they have been able to gleam, the ambulance swerved out of the way, the s.u.v. side swiped the ambulance ultimately causing the s.u.v. to roll over. it hit a brick wall and utility pole. the three men in the s.u.v. were pronounced dead at the scene. the two men in the ambulance got out to check out the men in the s.u.v. they are now out of the hospital, they are back at the fire house. they are doing ok this morning, but we can tell you because of this investigation that we have

going on right here out on marlboro pike, trying to figure out exactly what took place causing this s.u.v. to cross over the double lines, there's going to be quite a backup for commuters pen crossing drive as well as brooks drive between the two streets,s the closed. >> courtney, thank you, very much. now we turn to our other top story, will the change in the mayor's office mean a shakeup in d.c. schools and whether chancellor michele reid will still have a job when the new person takes over. >> a lot of people have been asking that. michele reid says when she first started talking school reform with mayor fenty, she told him the decisions could cause a lot of consternation. she's made a lot of decisions

including firing a lot of teachers. that could have contributed to mayor fenty losing her job as mayor. but whatever happens she hopes lit continue moving forward. >> i have spent the last 3 1/2 years putting my blood, sweat and tears into reform efforts and we're going to make sure we do whatever we can to try to ensure that they continue. >> now vince gray says he has reached out to michele ri, and she says as well they hope to have a conversation in the coming days about their future and that she looks forward to working with him to see how they can move forward. gray said he wants to work on school reform sanched looking for an 'em powered and inclusive
